Turkish Villa Scam Action Group Press Release 1
Saturday, June 28, 2008 19:42:32 -- Around 80 families most of them from Northern Ireland have found themselves caught up in a multi million pound Turkish villa scam where villas they thought they had bought turned out not to be theirs when many were given fake deeds. The scam is currently being investigated by the PSNI in Northern Ireland. Meanwhile in Turkey, the criminal trial of Kevin O'Kane from Bellaghy along with his Turkish business partners Kubilay Atmaca & Hande Bakkal is currently underway. Dubbed by the Turkish press as The biggest housing con in Turkey all three are charged with serious fraud & issuing false deeds. Altinkum Didim Today News Reported. |

Fake-notes couple must remain in Turkey
Saturday, June 28, 2008 19:39:01 -- The Hucknall couple arrested in Turkey for possessing fake £20 notes are reeling from bombshell news that they might have to remain in the country until September. Mandy (38) and Steven Bonnington (40), of Salterford Road, are now facing potential financial ruin, the loss of their jobs and an extended separation from their children, Natasha (15) and Connor (11).As reported in last week's Dispatch, the couple had hoped that a public prosecutor would alter the allegations they face and allow them to return home until charges, if any, were brought. |

Turkey reaches semis of Euro 2008 after beating Croatia
Saturday, June 21, 2008 01:14:01 -- Turkey taught the European Championship another lesson in fortitude Friday night to advance to the semifinals with a 3-1 shootout victory over Croatia. The Turks needed a tying goal in injury time of the extra period after a 0-0 draw in regulation, just moments after the Croats seemingly had won it. Semih Sunturk, who later scored in the shootout, got the equalizer from just inside the area off a free kick by goalkeeper Rustu Recber from near midfield. A minute before, Recber's error allowed Ivan Klasnic to score the match's first goal, in the 29th minute of extra time. Recber chased after a ball headed out of bounds, and Luka Modric passed it to Klasnic for a short header. |

The victims have started a petition to 10 Downing St asking for the sharing of evidence between the 2 countries. MP's, MEP's, David Milliband the UK foreign secretary, the Turkish Foreign Affairs department, the PSNI and the Northern Ireland Policing justice minister have all been contacted by the victims requesting the free flow of information between the 2 countries. Children found dead in car with their dad
Tuesday, June 17, 2008 20:43:29 -- TWO young children found dead in a car with their father in North Wales yesterday lived in Windmill Hill, Runcorn. The family has been named as Brian Philcox and his children Amy and Owen. Their bodies were found in a Land Rover at a beauty spot in Llanrwst, North Wales yesterday. North Wales police is expected to release more information later today, after post mortems have been carried out. |
